MY APPROACH

I will take an active, interested, and engaged approach to understanding the concerns you bring.  I aim to create an environment where we can explore what you bring collaboratively and without judgment.

I believe we all have an innate capacity for change, growth, and healing.  Therapy can help strengthen and empower these innate abilities to facilitate meaningful personal and interpersonal change.

While I have studied a number of different therapeutic approaches, the models I find most valuable in my practice are ones that emphasize our innate capacity for growth and change, while seeking to heal the parts of us that became injured, stuck, or left behind in our quest to survive.

Based on what you are wanting to better understand or change in your life, our work together will be at times reflective, creative and imaginative, and/or action-oriented.

I recognize that finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable can feel like a daunting task.  I welcome you to be in touch to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.  I’d be glad to discuss the possibility of working together, or to answer any questions you might have about my practice.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

I have extensive experience providing clinical supervision and case consultation in a variety of community mental health settings.

Similar to my clinical work, I take a non-authoritative, collaborative approach to supervision.  I will work with you to identify your existing strengths as a therapist and identify areas for further growth and development, in both theoretical understanding and clinical practice.

If you are in the process of gaining experience for licensure which requires clinical supervision, our supervisory hours can be counted toward the requirements.  As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Reimbursement privileges (LCSW-R), I can fill out and sign off on the paperwork required for both clinical hours and supervision completed while working together.
